Who they are
Disfigured Firefighter, also called Burned Man or Burnt Fireman, is a guaranteed human. The roster says he always arrives on night 7, in the living room, and that he gives you a FEMA notice. Related ending is Welcome to FEMA. Related achievement is ach_40. The burns, the scars, and the black-looking eyes are the false positive the guest file names outright.
The article describes a man in critical condition after a forest fire: almost no hair, a flat stare, a dirty black shirt and shorts, socks still on. He still talks about going back out to fight fires and about friends he did not stay long enough to help. That dedication does not heal the sprite. It is why a player who trusts silhouettes will murder a fixed human on the same night the notice arrives.
The notice is a step toward Welcome to FEMA, together with the FEMA Agent's visits. Hot Potato, the achievement for handing a notice to a Visitor, is a different action. Do not spend his paper on a test you already know he passes as human.
He is not Wounded Man, the randomized office guest with a bleeding hip, and he is not the surgeon's rumored patient. Different room, different role, different night.
Roster tells
Always human. The burns are from the fire, not from a visitor symptom.
The burns are why he looks wrong, and they are also why he is safe. He is a guaranteed human on Night 7 and he is holding a FEMA notice. Take the notice whether you let him in immediately or accept it as the bribe he offers if you refuse.
Human version
- Fixed human. He still carries the FEMA notice he was supposed to turn in at quarantine.
False positives
- Burns, missing skin, and a disfigured face are the whole character. They are not a tell.
Interaction: He always hands over a FEMA notice, which the Welcome to FEMA route spends. His page says giving a notice back the next day is Hot Potato; the achievement list here instead says the notice has to go to a visitor.
