SpecialAchievement 29Embrace The Inevitable: quick answer
To get Embrace The Inevitable, accept the Prophetic Man route after accepting the cat, avoid testing anyone for two full days, dig out the basement tunnel, and jump into the hole when the path opens.
This is the Prophetic Man and Death Cult route. Its ending condition is a specific instruction chain, not a Day 14 population check or the separate mushroom quest.

Route requirements
- Accept the cat and follow the Prophetic Man's instructions.
- Do not test anyone for two full days during the protected route window.
- Dig out the basement tunnel when the route makes it available.
- Jump into the hole when the path opens.
Step-by-step route
- 01
Accept the cat branch
Keep the cat route active so the Prophetic Man instructions can continue. Do not replace this route with the separate mushroom invitation chain.
- 02
Follow the Prophetic Man
Complete each instruction the Prophetic Man gives instead of treating the encounter as a normal visitor check.
- 03
Protect the two-day window
Avoid testing anyone for two full days. Testing anyone during this window breaks the route.
- 04
Dig the basement tunnel
When the route opens the basement task, dig out the tunnel and continue the sequence rather than switching to another ending route.
- 05
Enter the hole
When the path opens, jump into the hole. That action completes the Embrace The Inevitable route.
Common mistakes
- Testing someone during the two-day protected window.
- Ignoring a Prophetic Man instruction or leaving the cat route.
- Confusing this route with Shroom or Doom's mushroom, apple, and clock sequence.
- Digging the tunnel but not entering the hole when the path opens.
How this ending differs
Embrace The Inevitable is the Prophetic Man and Death Cult route, ending with the basement hole. Shroom or Doom is a separate basement quest built around the mushroom, apple, clock, and Mushroom Man invitation; The End? and In The Dark are Day 14 population endings.
