Who they are
Death is the supernatural figure at the end of Embrace The Inevitable, listed among the endings as that route's payoff. She is not a person at the peephole and she has no guest row. The character article stages the meeting as a cosmic turquoise sea and an aurora, then a house in an afterlife that resembles the Loneliness and Isolation poster. That sequence is the reason to attempt the route. It is not a sprite you test for teeth.
The practical route, as the character article lays it out, starts with the cat. Prophetic Man gives a divination on night 3, and Cat Lady must be let in on night 4 so the basement can open. Skip sign checks for two days in a row. Days 6 and 7 are the efficient pair. Talking to people and handling FEMA notices is still allowed on those days. What you skip is the symptom minigame.
Dig the basement three times. The article times the tunnel opening against the Prophetic Man's night-9 visit. On night 12, close to death himself, he talks about the hole. Down in the maze you find the Miner and a humming hole. The Miner is hub-only on this site: his article is short, he tells you the hole is dangerous, and he hopes his crew is fine. Jumping in is the ending. The achievement Embrace The Inevitable sits on that finale.
Death Cult Leader uses death as theology and a different ending, May Death Cleanse Us of Our Sins. Do not mix the ritual with the basement jump. One is three human cultists kept alive. The other is a tunnel.
